Paradigm consultants are working with a local authority in Essex to recruit Support Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners.
They will be required to progress and respond to enquiries and contacts from a variety of sources quickly and efficiently as per policy and procedures, providing high quality advice and guidance.
Lead Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners will act as a filter to inappropriate contacts, provide appropriate guidance and signpost to a more suitable resource where social care threshold is not met, and that contacts which are not accepted by Social Care are discussed with the relevant support services to identify the best resource and according to thresholds.
They will:
- Use advanced professional knowledge, skills and associated policies and guidance.
- Use initiative to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding in accordance with the Children’s Services threshold document and Safeguarding and Child Protection Procedures.
- Have experience in understanding of initial view of risk, obtaining comprehensive information from referrers, pursuing lines of enquiry at the earliest point of contact and advising referrers appropriately as to the next course of action to enable children and young people
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub+, including liaising with other teams within and outside of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub+ ensuring that their needs are met and keeping up to date with developments and organisational changes.
- Attend or lead multi-agency meetings and consult with professional’s in respect to decision making decisions and act as a conduit between the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub+ Team and other services where applicable.
- Develop, support, coach and motivate the Social Workers, Advanced Practitioners and all Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub+ staff to deliver and maintain excellent customer service, carrying out effective Employee performance and development reviews, having regular supervision meetings in accordance with the Children’s Services supervision policy.
- Undertake research, training and development activities as required for the department’s development and the post holder’s development.
- Deputise for the Team Manager as and when necessary and to assist in the execution of all managerial functions relating to the smooth running of the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub+.
